Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of completion of Radiologic program.

Summary

Provides diagnostic-quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows guidelines for radiation safety while imaging gently. Delivers a high level of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Produces images of diagnostic quality, processes, and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, and proper distance with documentation. Assumes responsibility and accountability for safety.
• Ensures appropriate exam is ordered and attached to the correct patient folder.
• Confirms supplies and equipment meet patient care and department requirements.
• Documents LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, number of images, appropriate history, and all required documentation.
• Coordinates daily work duties within the team and manages exam timing.
• Ensures images have crossed into PACS before study completion.
• Verifies physician orders are complete, including signature, study, diagnosis/CPT codes, and obtains missing information.
• Reports equipment malfunction and requests repairs or adjustments.
• Assists in training and educating new employees, students, and ancillary personnel.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the immediate work area.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of completion of Radiologic program.
• Ability to handle medical and confidential information ethically and effectively.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of safe use of radiation equipment.
• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology.
• American Heart Association BLS certification - Pennsylvania.
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - Pennsylvania upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or graduate of a Health Science Program.

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs., push/pull up to 140 lbs., carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
