Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Diagnostic Specialist-MSSM to support quality patient care and routine clinical tasks. You will assist physicians and nurses, perform standard diagnostic procedures, and help manage patient conditions on a daily basis.

The role requires completion of a NYS-approved LPN training program, BLS certification, 1–2 years of nursing experience, and an active NY LPN license. This position is based in New York State and involves direct patient care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages patient care according to each patient's needs.
• Interviews patients and records medical history and physical condition.
• Obtains patient vital signs: pulse, BP, temp, respiration.
• Provides routine care for patients.
• Reviews medical charts.
• Accompanies patients to their rooms.
• Assists physicians and registered nurses.
• Communicates with patients and families.
• Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, spirometry, etc.
• Prepares specimens for lab courier.
• Administers medications.
• Provides wound care.
• Prepares and administers injections.
• Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately.
• Observes and records patient conditions and reactions to medications and treatment.
