Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Minimum two years of recent modality experience.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.
• Pediatric sonography certification is preferred.
• RDMS in OB/GYN or equivalent certifications required within specified timeline.
• Maternal Fetal Medicine training is a plus.
• RDMS/ARRT credentials must be obtained per hire conditions.
• Initial certification in one abdominal/OB/GYN/vascular area with remaining within 18 months.

Aufgaben

• Perform diagnostic sonographic imaging on adults and children.
• Consult with physicians regarding history and appropriate exams.
• Review charts and prior reports before exams.
• Educate patients about procedures and equipment.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during exams.
• Schedule patients and manage emergency ultrasound cases.
• Verify appointments and coordinate with imaging staff.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Handle after-hours image transmission and paperwork.
• Report equipment malfunctions and assist with maintenance.
• Assist with billing via RIS and maintain exam rooms with supplies.
• Support ultrasound education for students and residents.

Ausbildung

Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree

Two years modality experience

BLS certification (AHA/Red Cross)

Pediatric sonography certification

RDMS in OB/GYN

OB/GYN RDMS certification within 1 year

Maternal Fetal Medicine training

RDMS/ARRT RT(S) or RT(VS) upon hire

Abdominal/OB/GYN/Vascular certification within 18 months
