Job summary

Emerson Health in Concord, MA is seeking a per diem Sonographer to support the Mammography/Sonography section. The role uses high frequency ultrasound to acquire diagnostic images and contribute to patient care.

Reporting to the Section Leader, you will interpret and evaluate ultrasound data, maintain patient records, and adhere to ARDMS certification and BLS requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an educational program meeting ARDMS eligibility.
• Previous experience as a sonographer strongly preferred.
• Current ARDMS registration or ARDMS-eligible with ARDMS achieved within 1 year of hire.
• BLS healthcare provider required.
• English reading/writing and communication proficiency required.

About this role

Reporting to the Section Leader, Mammography/Sonography, utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical diagnosis. Produces and evaluates ultrasound images and related data.

Education

Graduate of an educational program that meets eligibility for ARDMS registry.

Experience

Previous experience as a sonographer strongly preferred.

Licensure and/or Certification

Current registration with ARDMS; or ARDMS-eligible with ARDMS achieved within 1 year of hire.

BLS healthcare provider required.

Skills

• Ultrasound scanning skills in vascular, OBGYN, abdominal and small parts required.
• Must be able to understand oral and written medical/radiological/sonographic terminology.
• Must have comprehension of cross-sectional anatomy and correlation with anatomical structures.
• Must be able to identify pathological processes.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required.
