Job summary

Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA, is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Sonography technologist. Shifts include 7:00-3:30, 8:00-4:30, and 10:00-6:30, with 40 hours per pay period.

The candidate will utilize high-frequency sound waves to produce and evaluate ultrasound images for medical diagnosis, under the Section Leader, Mammography/Sonography. ARDMS registration or eligibility within 1 year is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARDMS-eligible educational program.
• Current ARDMS registration or ARDMS eligibility with attainment within 1 year of hire.
• Previous sonography experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging and data acquisition.
• Produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data.
• Collaborate with Mammography/Sonography leadership to ensure quality exams.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Section Leader, Mammography/Sonography, utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical diagnosis. Produces and evaluates ultrasound images and related data.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an educational program that meets eligibility for ARDMS registry.

Experience

Previous experience as a sonographer strongly preferred.

Licensure and/or Certification

Current registration with ARDMS; or ARDMS-eligible with ARDMS achieved within 1 year of hire.

Skills

• Ultrasound scanning skills in vascular, OBGYN, abdominal and small parts required.
• Must be able to understand oral and written medical/radiological/sonographic terminology.
• Must have comprehension of cross-sectional anatomy and correlation with anatomical structures.
• Must be able to identify pathological processes.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required.
• Computer skills required.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
