Job summary

Barrett Hospital & HealthCare in Dillon, MT seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to provide ultrasound-based diagnostic care and manage the sonography room, patient scheduling, and equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds a CAAHEP-accredited diploma and ARDMS credentials in Abdomen, OB/GYN and Vascular, with BLS certification current. Breast certification is preferred and Adult Echo Cardiography experience is a plus. CME compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program that is accredited by CAAHEP is required.
• Active ARDMS certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN and Vascular is required.
• Breast certification preferred.
• Adult Echo Cardiography certification preferred.
• Current CME compliance for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic patient care using ultrasound and related procedures.
• Oversee daily operations of the sonography room, patient schedule, and equipment maintenance.
• Report equipment failures and participate in quality assessment processes.

Description

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasonographer) provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for daily operations of the sonography room, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment processes. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. Successful candidates will have a passion for patient care excellence, team work and enjoy working with the public.

Requirements

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.
• Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the following specialties Abdomen, OB/GYN and Vascular.
• Breast certification preferred.
• In addition, certification in Adult Echo Cardiography is preferred.
• Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies), as appropriate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
