Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, acquiring and analyzing data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Radiologic Technologists independently perform or assist licensed practitioners in completing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. They also prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or institutional policies.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The employee is accountable for fulfilling all job-specific obligations and complying with organizational policies and procedures. The specific statements are not all-inclusive but represent typical elements necessary for successful job performance. Additional competencies and skills outlined in department-specific orientation will also be essential.
Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required)
Certified Radiology Technologist within 24 months - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
