Role Overview

Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure following legal and institutional guidelines. Their responsibilities include verifying patient identity, optimizing imaging protocols, evaluating image quality, and assisting licensed practitioners with specialized procedures. They also educate and monitor students and healthcare staff, and may perform procedures outside the Radiology Department, such as in operating rooms or ICU settings.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; ARRT-R certification required within six months for new graduates; proficiency in imaging techniques, patient care, and safety principles.
