Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, operate imaging equipment, and maintain related records.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, immobilization and radiation protection, assisting physicians, and contributing to QA/QC and student education. Graduate from Specialty Training in Radiologic Technology with ARRT and BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required).
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required and ARRT certification is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations with proper patient positioning and exposure techniques.
  • Operates all equipment within the modality and reports malfunctions.
  • Sets up immobilization devices and applies radiation protection measures.
  • Reviews patient size and condition to determine appropriate examination parameters.
  • Assists physicians during procedures.
  • Maintains records and notations related to examinations.
  • Participates in QA/QC procedures as required.
  • Participates in the educational training of students.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, equipment operation, and for maintaining related records.

Job Duties
  • Performs standardized radiological radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations utilizing proper patient position, identification and exposure techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment within modality.
  • Sets up and adjusts immobilization and radiation protective equipment and devices.
  • Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology in performing examinations.
  • Assists physician with various procedures.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Maintains related records and notations.
  • Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as required.
  • Participates in the educational training of students.
