Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking an on-site Diagnostic Radiology Technologist for Ball Memorial Hospital. The role involves night shifts (Sun, Mon, Wed, Thu) from 9p to 7:30a with a night differential and a sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant radiology experience.
• BLS certification required by AHA.
• If board eligible, must obtain Radiography credential within 6 months of hire.
• Current ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging equipment (x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, fluoroscopy).
• Explain exams to patients and position them correctly.
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians for accurate imaging.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and document patient history in EMR.
• Monitor patient during exam for safety and assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Job description

This is a full-time Diagnostic Radiology Technologist position located at Ball Memorial Hospital. The hours are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9p-7:30a (4 -10 hour night shifts). Rotating holidays, no call required! The Technologist will qualify for our new night shift differential!

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
