Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform medical imaging procedures and ensure patient safety throughout exams. You will explain the study to patients, position them for optimal results, and collaborate closely with radiologists and referring physicians.

As part of the team, you will operate x-ray, fluoroscopy, portable x-ray equipment and assist with minimally invasive procedures while maintaining EMR documentation and strict radiation safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions as needed.
  • Active RT(R) radiography license or board-eligible radiologic technologist.
  • Current Indiana ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Job description

Overview

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
