Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a part-time radiologic technologist to provide diagnostic radiographs and imaging procedures, and to assist Radiologists, ensuring continuity of patient care across MercyOne facilities.

This position features a PRN/Varied 8-hour shift on rotating schedules with responsibilities including patient preparation, collecting patient history, and delivering information for interpretation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography; Iowa permit to practice; ARRT-Registered Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Takes radiographic exposures appropriate to procedure.
• Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.
• Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.
• Provides patient cares in accordance with department policy.
• Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.
• Interacts positively with other departments, physicians and students.
• Adheres to safety, infection control and employee health policies.

Based On Principles Of Growth And Development, Provides Care Appropriate To The Age Related Needs Of The Patients Served On His/her Assigned Unit, Which May Include

• Birth-28 days: Neonate
• 1-18 Months: Infant
• 18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler
• 3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged
• 6-12 Yrs: School-Aged
• 12-18 Yrs: Adolescents
• 18-65 Yrs: Adults
• 65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography. Must have valid Iowa permit to practice. Registered Technologist (Radiography) by ARRT.
• Intermediate language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability.
• Personal computer.
• Ability to work with a large degree of independence.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems.
• Ability to perform office procedures when needed.
• Knowledge of imaging techniques for routine diagnostic radiographic examinations.
• CR, DR, and PACS computer knowledge.
• Understand and demonstrate a commitment to customer service expectations at all times.
