Summary: The incumbent's principal responsibilities include independently performing general radiographic technology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Dexa Scan procedures at above the full performance level for patients of the VA NWI-Health Care System, along with other duties necessary for the imaging department's functionality.
Duties: The role involves performing procedures in hospitals or clinics under radiologist and medical officer supervision, producing radiographic studies for diagnosis, and interpreting requests. It requires knowledge in digital radiology (DR) and PACS systems. Specialized CT duties include cross-sectional anatomy knowledge, performing scans with or without contrast, CT angiography, 3-D reconstructions, drainages, biopsies, and vascular exams. Advanced ARRT certification is required for independent CT duties.
Examinations include general radiography, fluoroscopy, Dexa, and computed imaging of various body parts, along with clerical duties like scheduling and managing images.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Not telework or virtual.
Requirements: U.S. citizenship, certification by ARRT, accredited education, proficiency in English, and compliance with vaccination and background checks.
Qualifications: Must meet education, certification, and experience standards, including at least one year of relevant experience for GS-9 level, and demonstrate specific KSAs.
