Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist I to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and ensure patient safety across age groups. You will administer contrast agents, assess allergic risks, and review labs prior to exams, while communicating clearly with patients and families.

Responsibilities include following imaging protocols, documenting deviations, and timely post-processing and PACS QA, with opportunities to cover open shifts as competency allows.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification and BLS required.
• Completed 6-month orientation.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures and ensure patient safety.
• Administer contrast agents and assess allergy risks.
• Review lab values prior to contrast administration.
• Explain procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate language.
• Adhere to imaging protocols and document deviations.
• Notify clinicians when urgent findings arise.
• Complete post-processing and transfer images for review.
• Ensure timely order closure and PACS QA.
