Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is seeking a 9-month, full-time teaching faculty member in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) to deliver courses in traditional, hybrid, and online formats.

The role carries a typical load of 12-15 credit hours per semester with 15-20 contact hours. Advisors and committee work are expected, with curriculum development and currency in the discipline emphasized.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach DMS concepts in classroom, lab, and online settings.
• Proficiency with technology to enhance instruction and LMS use.
• Experience with online resources and Learning Management Systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to teach DMS in lab, clinical, and didactic settings.
• Knowledge of anatomy, 3D techniques, and pathophysiology.
• Interpersonal skills for working with clinical preceptors, especially OB/Gyn.
• Experience with clinical tracking systems like Trajecsys and Canvas.
• ARDMS and/or CCI credentials required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in traditional, hybrid, and distance formats.
• Handle 12-15 credit hours and 15-20 contact hours per semester.
• Advise students and participate in curriculum development.
• Attend meetings, maintain program currency, and meet deadlines.
