Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our imaging team. You will perform ultrasound studies across obstetric, gynecologic, abdominal, vascular and pediatric exams, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Qualified candidates will be RDMS eligible or certified, with BLS, and have strong teamwork. This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• RDMS certification upon hire with ARDMS or ARRT credentials.
• One abdominal/OB-GYN/vascular cert; others within 18 months.
• BLS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic imaging for patients of all ages.
• Conduct ultrasound studies: obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, vascular, pediatric and more.
• Consult with physicians on patient history and procedure selection.
• Review charts and requisitions prior to exams.
• Educate patients about procedures and equipment.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during exams.
• Assist with scheduling and prioritize emergencies.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the help desk and PACS admin.
• Process billing via RIS.
