Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join their team. You will collaborate with skilled caregivers to perform imaging studies and support physicians in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology or an 18-month cardiac ultrasound program, with BLS certification and RDCS or RCS credentials within one year of hire. This on-site position includes a shift pattern with on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology or 18-month cardiac ultrasound program or two years of full-time echo experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• RDCS or RCS credential within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
• Perform routine and complex studies and assist physicians in imaging procedures.
• Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.

A caregiver in this position works M-F, 7:00am—3:30pm. On-call requirements (M-F: 3:30pm—11:00pm). Sat, Sun, and holidays: 7:00am—11:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.

• Perform routine and complex studies and assist physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
• Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology
• OR graduate of a cardiac ultrasound program (18-month program) OR two years of full-time echo experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• New hires must obtain the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
• OR the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential from Cardiac Credentialing International within one year of hire date
• Demonstrated knowledge of m-mode, 2D and doppler calculations and cardiac hemodynamics
• Familiar with computers and can learn related programs

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to assist with transport of patients, i.e., pushing beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $54.50
