Fairview is looking for a Diagnostic Laboratory Technologist (DLT) at M Health Fairview Clinic - Elk River ,M Health Fairview Clinic - Rogers ,M Health Fairview Clinic - Andover . Primary hours vary and have a shift with hours varying between 10:00am-6:30pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00am-5:30pm Friday. The majority of shifts outside these primary hours will have a start time between 6:30am and 12:00pm if needed. This position includes one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) at our M Health Andover Urgent Care site. Weekend rotations average every 5th weekend. Schedule is subject to change to meet staffing needs, including floating to other nearby clinics and changing starting hours.

The DLT plays an important role in providing quality, proficient and professional laboratory services to diverse populations within an ambulatory healthcare environment. The Diagnostic Laboratory Technician performs waived or moderate complexity testing, correlates data-based knowledge of technical and instrumental conditions affecting testing results and performs quality control procedures within established parameters.

This position will also be involved with the preparation or procurement of specimens used for high complexity and research testing, ensuring efficient workflow and may schedule tests and provide results as appropriate. The DLT works independently under general supervision.

Job Expectations: follow established guidelines to obtain specimens, perform testing and report results, consistently implement and adhere to the laboratory customer service standards. The standards include promoting teamwork, successful communication, and conflict resolution, supports and adheres to laboratory SOPs, quality assurance, performance improvement and compliance programs recognizing trends and identifying when additional reporting, communication or other action is appropriate. Demonstrates competency and compliance with all regulatory agency policies. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in a Chemistry orBiological sciencesfield with a minimum of 24 semester hours of science courses that include

    oSix semester hours of chemistry and

    oSix semester hours of biology and

    oTwelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination.

  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in an ambulatory or acute healthcare environment
  • Experience with microscopy, including analysis of urine samples via microscopic examination, wet preparations, and KOH preparations.
Other Required Skills
  • Good phlebotomy skills.
