Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Radiology Clinical Instructor for a full-time day shift (7:30am–4:00pm, Mon–Fri). Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Lead and support Radiology Students, supervise technologists, and help ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety as part of the Radiology Education team.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or graduate from an accredited Radiology or Nuclear Medicine program with a valid certification.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required at start.
• Licensure: ARRT, ARDMS, CVT, RVT, CAMRT or NMTCB certification.
• Experience: Three years of experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services according to radiology practice standards and mentor Radiology Students and technologists.
• Assign work and support Radiology Students based on program needs.
• Orient and develop Student Radiologic Technologists to ensure competencies.
• Collaborate with other instructors to assess patient contact skills, radiographic techniques, and safety.
• Demonstrate patient safety and manage imaging QC/QA with program personnel.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Diagnostic Imaging Radiology Clinical Instructor Job Responsibilities

• The Diagnostic Imaging Radiology Clinical Instructor provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards and acts as a resource to Radiology Students and other technologists while ensuring optimal department functions. Acts as a liaison between Inova Health System's Fairfax Hospital Radiology Services and administrative program personnel by fostering effective and efficient educational opportunities.
• Provides work assignments, direction and support to Radiology Students based on program and individual student needs.
• Orients, educates and develops Student Radiologic Technologists to ensure competencies and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
• Partners with other Radiology Clinical Instructors to assess direct patient contact skills, radiographic techniques, delivery of patient care and appropriateness of reactions when responding to routine and critical situations.
• Demonstrates patient safety in department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by risk management reports; Takes ownership of imaging QC/QA and, in conjunction with administrative program personnel, PI for students necessitated by clinical performance.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or Graduate of an accredited school/program of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine with a valid certification.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association upon start
• Licensure: Must be certified by at least one of the following:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
• Experience: Three years of experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in a hospital/ healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as an educator, instructor or mentor.
