Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect diagnostic imaging equipment across facilities. The role includes preventive maintenance, safety testing, and documenting all actions.

Travel to other Michigan Medicine sites is required periodically. On-call duties and HIPAA-compliant practices are part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent military training.
8+ years of biomedical equipment repair and support experience, or radiology equipment training.
Knowledge of electronic, radiology theory and safety with high voltages and ionizing radiation.
Ability to analyze, test, and replace defective parts and maintain records.

Responsibilities

Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect diagnostic imaging systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing of diagnostic imaging systems.
Maintain documentation of repairs, calibrations and tests per policy.
Travel periodically to other Michigan Medicine facilities for service activities.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide user department support and instruction.
Ensure HIPAA, CMS, TJC standards and department policies are followed.
