Job summary

Qualifications

• ABHES-accredited school of cytotechnology or HHS-recognized equivalent.
• Certification as cytotechnologist by ASCP.
• Pre-1992 education options with required coursework and training.
• Certification maintenance documentation for CMP after 2004.

Responsibilities

• Prepare slides of human cell samples and prioritize specimen preparation.
• Process and examine specimens under a microscope to identify malignant or related abnormal conditions.
• Report laboratory results using current cytotechnology terminology per institutional protocols.
• Maintain safe laboratory operations and adhere to safety standards and practices.
