Qualifications

Summary of Job Duties:

The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs transthoracic, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms on adult patients utilizing appropriate techniques (M-Mode, 2D, Doppler Color Flow, Spectral Doppler and bubble studies).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Sonography Program.
• Cardiac ultrasound experience, including treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing preferred.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) preferred; must be registry eligible and complete registration within one year of employment.
• Current CPR required.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Assist with procedures and examinations, including setup and patient monitoring.
• Perform measurements, calculations, and recognize cardiac pathologies.
• Report critical findings immediately.
• Initiate IV access and administer contrast agents as per policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
