Job summary

Solis Mammography in Texas is seeking a Diagnostic Breast Sonographer to operate ultrasound equipment, acquire high-quality images and measurements, and communicate findings to radiologists. The role covers Pasadena and Pearland sites with a rotating schedule that may include travel to a local center for coverage.

Qualifications include an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program graduate and ARDMS certification with CME compliance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
  • Active ARDMS certification with CME compliance.
  • Ability to communicate procedures to patients and educate about mammography.
  • Ability to read/write and understand medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with RIS/PACS and database software.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality ultrasound imaging and obtain measurements for each exam.
  • Document patient and procedure data accurately.
  • Explain procedures to patients to maximize comfort and cooperation.
  • Assist radiologists during ultrasound exams and biopsies.
  • Ensure patient emotional and physical well-being throughout procedures.

Job Description

Diagnostic Breast Sonographer

Work Location:3801 Vista Rd Ste 200. Pasadena, TX. 77504 and 10970 Shadow Creek Pkwy, Suite 190 Pearland, TX 77584

Work Hours: (Full-Time) Monday/Wednesdays (Pearland), Tuesday/Thursdays(Pasadena) 7:30am-4:00pm. Friday schedule will vary and may include travel to a local center for ultrasound coverage. (No Saturdays!)

The Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique. Communicates with the patient and relays any pertinent information to the radiologist and documents on tracking sheet/chart.Communicates with the radiologist and understands and performs any necessary additional exams.

Here is what you will need:

  • Education: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program.
  • Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS. Current compliance with CME requirements.
  • Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Ability to read and write and comprehend medical terminology. Ability to effectively communicate information on a one-on-one and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software.
  • Physical demands: Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time.

A Day in the Life of a Diagnostic Breast Sonographer:

  • Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
  • Produces high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam
  • Documents all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
  • Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation
  • Appropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure with special care taken to insurepatient emotional and physical well-being
  • Assist and/or chaperones radiologist when they are performing ultrasound exams
  • Assists radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate steriletechnique and universal precautions
