Job summary

Northside Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Dietitian/Diabetes Educator to join our nutrition team in Georgia. This role focuses on delivering nutrition education, designing care plans, and supporting diabetes care within designated areas of our hospital.

The candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintain ADA-aligned continuing education, adapt education to age-specific and culturally relevant needs, and remain flexible with hours including weekends and on-call.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential and GA licensure are required.
• Current BLS Certification.
• CDCES certification within two years of hire.
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition education in designated areas.
• Support department operations with the RD team and diabetes specialists.
• Develop nutrition/diabetes education plans aligned with policy.
• Serve as a resource to other health professionals for patient care.
• Be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call.
• Complete 15 hours of continuing education annually.

Responsibilities

Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Educator, provides nutrition/education will perform duties in designated areas where their expertise will be best utilized. Responsibilities involve assisting Service Coordinator/Manager with departmental support of Registered Dietitian(s) (RD) s and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist(s) other departmental operations as assigned. Prepares and implements nutrition/diabetes education care plans age specific and culturally relevant in accordance with departmental policy and standards of care. Serves as resource to other health professionals in the specified area of expertise for purposes patient care delivery, and departmental continuous Quality Improvement. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and weekend call if and when assigned. Must complete required continuing education in compliance with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognized program requirements and must complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education each year.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Current licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) within two (2) years of hire.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age specific education principles.
• Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, & Outlook)

PREFERRED

• 1 year clinical experience preferred.
• Public Speaking experience preferred.
• Master’s degree in nutrition subject is preferred.

Work Hours:

8AM-4:30PM
