Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL seeks a Diabetes and Nutrition Educator to plan, implement, and evaluate education for patients, staff, and the community. You will mentor colleagues, act as a resource, and help integrate nutrition therapy into diabetes care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of diabetes education experience; professional certification is preferred or must be pursued within 12 months of hire. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nursing or related field.
• Two (2) years’ experience in Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSME/S).
• Certification in diabetes education preferred or willing to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient understanding and cooperation with nutrition plans.
• Develop and implement individualized diabetes and nutrition education for patients and families.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to integrate nutrition therapy into care.
• Provide education to staff and community and participate in ADA-related activities.
• Support initiatives to reduce avoidable hospital utilization.
