Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a per diem RN/Diabetes Educator to deliver individualized diabetes self‑management education in the outpatient program. The role collaborates with the care team to assess needs, create education plans, teach glucose monitoring and insulin administration, and support patients through lifestyle changes.

Licensed in Washington as a Registered Nurse with 2+ years of clinical practice is required; certification as a Diabetes Care and Education

Qualifications

• Licensed in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical practice; experience with people with diabetes preferred.
• Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist preferred.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized diabetes self‑management education to individuals and groups.
• Assess patients and develop personalized education plans.
• Teach glucose monitoring, insulin administration and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with the care team and document progress in records.
