Job summary

Sierra Circuits, a Sunnyvale-based PCB leader, seeks an experienced DFA Engineer to optimize SMT assembly and manufacturability. You will work with design, process, and manufacturing teams to improve yields and reduce costs.

You will develop SMT processes, analyze designs for manufacturability, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining quality and documentation across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5+ years SMT/DFA engineering in high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of SMT processes: stencil printing, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI.

Responsibilities

• Design for Assembly (ADFAE): provide feedback to improve manufacturability during SMT production.
• Develop and maintain SMT assembly processes, including stencil design and reflow soldering.
• Provide technical support for SMT lines and collaborate to resolve defects and fit issues.
• Lead lean initiatives to improve yield, cycle times, and efficiency.
• Conduct DFM analysis on new and existing products and mitigate risks.
