Job summary

Generalist is hiring hardware engineers to advance grippers, sensors, and robotic systems capable of dexterous manipulation with robustness and precision. You will contribute to concept design through mass production, collaborating with teams across ML, controls, perception, and operations to shape product requirements and timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in design of integrated electro-mechanical systems.
• Fluency in CAD modeling (Solidworks), PDM, FEA, and physics-driven analysis.
• Leadership in driving a project from conceptual design through mass production.
• Experience with injection molding, overmolding, machining, additive manufacturing, actuator assembly, and/or electronics manufacturing.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop wearable data collection devices capable of dexterous manipulation, from concept design through mass-production.
• Design and manufacture robot hands with custom structures, actuators, and sensor integration.
• Perform trade studies to evaluate actuator, robot, and sensor options.
• Lead engagements with external vendors to manufacture components or multiply IC efforts.
• Integrate COTS and custom robotic arms, stands, bases, hands, sensors, and end effectors.
• Test designs for functionality, robustness, and standards compliance.
• Collaborate with ML, controls, perception, operations, mechanical, electrical and hardware engineers; align product requirements and timelines.
