Job summary

East River Medical Imaging, PC in New York seeks a full-time DEXA Technologist to perform radiographic/DEXA procedures and support physician diagnosis.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, equipment prep, exposure setting, radiation protection, record keeping, and collaboration with Radiology team. Requirements include Associate's degree or equivalent and New York Radiologic Technologist License; strong Microsoft Office and HIPAA knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent project and time management skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while communicating and coordinating with others.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.
• HIPAA privacy and data protection knowledge.
• DEXA equipment and radiography knowledge.
• Radiology safety procedures knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for DEXA imaging procedures.
• Prepare equipment and ensure it is clean and set up properly.
• Adjust immobilization devices for optimum views.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Move imaging equipment, determine exposure factors, and produce images with proper detail.
• Practice radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Perform specialized radiology procedures, including nuclear medicine and sonography as needed.
• Independently implement patient procedures per protocols and standards.
• Maintain equipment and medical tools, and keep patient records/log sheets.
• Assist in completion of reports and data collection.
