Bright Light Medical Imaging in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a compassionate DEXA Scan Technician to join our radiology team. The DEXA Scan Technician is responsible for performing DEXA examinations while providing patients with professional, respectful, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR-BLS Certification is required.
• Experience caring for patients in healthcare settings is required.
• Ability to assist patients with positioning and mobility.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must provide compassionate, respectful, professional patient care.
• Ability to follow clinical and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform DEXA examinations per physician orders and protocols.
• Verify patient identification and medical history.
• Explain the DEXA procedure to patients and provide instructions.
• Position patients and operate DEXA equipment to obtain quality images.
• Review scans for quality; repeat exams as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Follow radiation safety practices and HIPAA requirements.
• Conduct routine quality-control procedures and report equipment concerns.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Clean and maintain the exam room and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during examinations.
• Assist with scheduling and patient flow.
