Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Platform Engineer in Rahway, NJ to design, build, and operate scalable, secure platforms for product development teams.

You will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and automation to empower developers with self-service capabilities and robust observability. The role emphasizes IaC, Kubernetes and containerized workloads, and collaboration across teams to ensure high availability and compliance with security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Platform/DevOps/SRE roles.
• Hands-on AWS design with EKS, EC2, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch.
• Strong Linux scripting (Python or similar).
• CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Experience with Ansible and IaC (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform solutions using IaC (Terraform/Ansible).
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC).
• Implement monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Containerize solutions with Kubernetes/Docker and manage deployments.
