This role is hands‑on in build systems, automation, and development tooling, with an initial emphasis on stabilizing local development environments and GitHub Actions workflows that are currently experiencing frequent breaks. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering to ensure developers can build, test, and run services locally with minimal friction—regardless of operating system.

In this role, you will:
  • Stabilize and harden CI/CD pipelines to reduce failures and improve confidence in delivery
  • Eliminate recurring local development environment breakages and improve cross‑platform reliability
  • Improve developer productivity via automation, tooling standards, and onboarding improvements
  • Increase parity between local environments and shared/production environments
  • Introduce monitoring, metrics, and operational guardrails for build and pipeline health
(CI/CD Reliability & Optimization)
  • Own build and pipeline reliability across repositories and services
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions
  • Diagnose and resolve pipeline failures proactively; reduce build "break time" and downtime
  • Optimize build/test workflows (caching, parallelization, artifact handling, runner configuration)
  • Implement consistent standards, quality gates, and reusable pipeline patterns/templates
  • Establish metrics, dashboards, and alerting for build system health (e.g., failure rates, duration, flaky job detection)
  • Improve release confidence through repeatable, well‑documented build and deployment practices
(Software / Reliability Engineering)
  • Audit and improve local development tooling and configuration across Linux, macOS, and Windows
  • Identify and remediate common causes of local breakage (dependencies, version drift, scripts, environment variables, secrets handling)
  • Ensure local environment usability despite OS differences and Docker variations
  • Translate workflows from local to shared environment, ensuring consistent behavior and parity
  • Automate developer onboarding and environment provisioning to reduce setup time and support burden
  • Create and maintain clear developer documentation (setup guides, troubleshooting playbooks, runbooks)
  • Partner with developers to reduce friction, shorten feedback loops, and enable smooth local development
(DevSecOps / Automation Engineering)
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
  • Build and manage deployment tooling and packaging standards, including Helm charts
  • Support and improve container‑based delivery using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Extend monitoring/observability capabilities for delivery pipelines and supporting infrastructure
  • Improve repeatability and consistency across environments through automation and standardization
  • Contribute to long‑term delivery platform improvements that reduce operational overhead and increase reliability
