Job summary

Seaboard Marine is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to integrate security into the SDLC and collaborate with development and operations teams. You will manage and execute the DevSecOps process daily, run code scans, and guide remediation with management and developers.

The role emphasizes security-first culture, incident response, and secure cloud configurations with Azure and AWS. Strong communication and continuous learning are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or 10 years in cybersecurity/dev
• Proven experience in a DevOps, cybersecurity, or related role.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Ruby and scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with container orchestration and IaC tools.
• Strong understanding of security principles, risk management, and vulnerabilities.
• Experience securing cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and cloud-native security tools.
• Knowledge of GDPR/HIPAA/SOC 2 and secure network design.
• Ability to identify issues and promote security awareness.
• Willingness to stay updated on security trends and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security tools and practices within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with developers to incorporate secure coding practices.
• Automate security processes to integrate into development workflows.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents with rapid resolution.
• Ensure cloud environments are securely configured and compliant with standards.
• Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.
• Stay updated on threats and advise on protocol updates.
• Work with security and development teams to explain security implications to stakeholders.
