Job description

Overview

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud and application development. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevSecOps practices such as build/release management, CI/CD practices, and process automation.

Contributions

Responsibilities include:

1. Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
2. Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
3. Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
4. Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
5. Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
6. Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and fixes
7. Working with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended
8. Supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code, including activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD
9. Documenting the current environment, performing gap analysis, and producing artifacts with options and recommendations
10. Leveraging virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
11. Acting as an individual contributor and mentoring junior team members
12. Collaborating with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools
13. Engineering and implementing solutions, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
14. Presenting regular status updates and cross-training team members

Qualifications

Required:

1. Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
2. Bachelor's Degree in an IT field or related experience as specified
3. 3+ years experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
4. 3+ years experience with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
5. 3+ years experience with programming or scripting languages
6. Active development experience in an Agile environment with DevSecOps practices
7. Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes
8. Experience with infrastructure as code and orchestration
9. Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI
10. Experience integrating deployment with DevSecOps tools and orchestration
11. Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines

Preferred:

1. Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, SAFe DevOps Certification
2. Experience implementing automated testing frameworks like Selenium
3. Excellent communication skills and ability to document and analyze environments
4. Experience scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
5. Experience with automation tools such as Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
