Job summary

Cornerstone Defense is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer II in Reston, VA to design and maintain secure pipelines in a high-security environment. You will collaborate across software, security, and operations teams to weave security into every step of development and deployment.

The role requires strong automation, IaC, and cloud security experience, supporting the evolution of secure DevSecOps practices within a compliant government-facing context.

Qualifications

• 6+ years as a DevSecOps engineer or similar role with SDLC security focus.
• Strong experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools listed.
• Experience building secure DevSecOps at scale in IL5–IL6+ domains.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure software development and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security in the lifecycle.
• Integrate security practices into the SDLC with development and operations.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated security testing and compliance checks.
• Develop IaC templates for secure cloud resources and configs.
• Perform security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing.
• Monitor logs to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Implement IAM solutions and ensure proper authentication/authorization.
• Guide engineers on secure coding and remediate findings.
• Participate in incident response and remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
