Job Title: Solutions Engineer

Location: 100% REMOTE with infrequent travel to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

Clearance Level: Active DoD – Secret

Required Certification(s):

DoD IAT Level II. Any one of the following certifications:

• CCNA Security
• CySA+
• GICSP
• GSEC
• Security+ CE
• CND
• SSCP

SUMMARY

The candidate will serve as an automation solution engineer to provide onsite operator and engineering services. The candidate will work closely with onsite operational teams to ensure the platform is operational. Additionally, the candidate will work with the overall company Solutions team to provide company-wide support on as-needed solutions, as well as participate in vendor-led engagements.

DUTIES

• Installation, maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, and management of DevSecOps Platforms.
• Work with and utilize containers for deployments.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of platform services- from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Work with Service Desk, Incident Management, Configuration Management and Change Management Processes for the designated environments.
• Utilize automation tools to optimize the environments for DevSecOps.
• Provide Technical expertise to business development teams.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

• (Required) B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• (Required) DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level “II” (i.e., Security+ CE).
• (Nice to Have) Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• (Nice to Have) VMware Certified Professional.
• (Nice to Have) Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) / Ansible.
• (Nice to Have) AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification.

Background Needed and Years of Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in Container Technologies.
• 4-5 years infrastructure/platform experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• 1 year of automation experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other industry platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Have Technical Skills

• Experience in scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Experience in System Administration with Linux/Unix Operating Systems.
• Experience with GitHub / GitLab.
• Strong experience working as part of a team collaborating on problem resolution.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Experience with OpenShift.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Rancher.
• Experience with configuration and management of Authentication technologies including Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) and oAuth 2.
• A software development or DevSecOps automation background.
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networks (SDNs), network micro segmentation and a familiarity with associated technologies such as NSX-V and NSX-T.
• Experience with Jenkins, Bamboo, Concourse or other Continuous Integration tools.
• Experience with system administration in cloud environments.
• Experience in an agile methodology environment.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

Working Conditions

Working Conditions Required

Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment with a fast-pace ops tempo. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Strength Demands Required

Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
