Job summary

IT Engagements, Inc. is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer for a client in Manassas, VA. This role involves enhancing security practices in the development lifecycle, designing CI/CD pipelines, and automating infrastructure using various scripting tools. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple teams to ensure robust security integration and will require proven experience in implementing and managing secure pipelines. Onsite work is mandatory five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience in managing secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or Groovy.

Job Title: DevSecOps Engineer

Location:Manassas, VA – Onsite 5 days/week

Contract:12+ months

(onsite Interview Required)

Position Overview

Join a high-performing engineering team to enhance security practices throughout the development lifecycle, while building and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines and automation toolchains.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain DevSecOps pipelines, integrating SAST/DAST, container, and secret-scanning tools.
• Script and automate infrastructure using Python, Bash, and possibly Groovy (for Jenkins/CI integration).
• Manage containerization workflows with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Ansible, Nexus, etc.
• Collaborate across development, security, and delivery teams to embed security controls early in SDLC.
• Educate and train developers on secure coding, pipeline practices, and security awareness.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven experience implementing and managing secure CI/CD pipelines
• Strong scripting ability in Python, Bash, and/or Groovy
• Familiarity with CloudBees CI, Ansible, Nexus
• Containerization experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to work onsite daily
