Qualifications

• Active U.S. citizenship and security clearance (secret) required.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity with ISSO or information assurance background.
• Experience with RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls and artifacts.
• Ability to prepare SSPs, POA&Ms and authorization packages.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and compliance tools.
• Hands-on hardening of Linux/Windows systems and cloud security basics.
• Strong written communication for security documentation and reporting.
• Interest in learning DevOps practices and automation.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform ISSO duties for assigned systems and maintain RMF posture.
• Develop and maintain authorization artifacts such as SSPs and POA&Ms.
• Implement and validate security controls; assist assessors during authorization.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and liaison with owners to remediate findings.
• Harden OS, apps, and network components to STIG/SRG baselines.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps to integrate security tooling into CI/CD.
• Apply DevOps practices like IaC and scripting to automate evidence collection.
• Identify repeatable tasks and drive automation efforts.
• Investigate incidents and report findings to leadership.
• Keep current with threats and evolving cyber policy; suggest improvements.
