Job summary

Alined Consulting Group, in Chicago, seeks a hands-on, self-motivated engineer who builds scalable cloud and DevSecOps platforms from the ground up, shaping how teams build, deploy, secure, and operate software.

You will design CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and support a multi-cloud AWS/Azure strategy, developing secure containerized deployment patterns with Kubernetes and ECS, embedding security and observability into the delivery lifecycle while aligning with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Experience building cloud platforms, infrastructure, or DevOps practices from scratch.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Strong security background including secrets management, security testing, and data protection.
• Programming experience with Python and/or Java.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to influence technical direction across teams.
• Cloud migration or modernization experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and establish scalable cloud and DevSecOps capabilities from the ground up.
• Design CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment standards.
• Build cloud services using IaC and support a multi-cloud AWS/Azure strategy.
• Develop secure containerized deployment patterns using Kubernetes and ECS.
• Embed security, observability, and automation into the software delivery lifecycle.
• Partner with application teams to establish scalable, reusable engineering standards.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
