Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. seeks a hands-on DevOps professional with strong troubleshooting skills for critical defense programs. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance (US citizenship required) and have deep SE experience across systems engineering, VMware, Linux, and Kubernetes ecosystem.

Fourteen years as a SE in large-scale programs is required, with a BS in a related field. The position supports flexible remote work options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Contribute to the development of SE documentation such as SE Plans, ICDs, and requirements specs
• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to deliver production systems compatible with defined architectures
• Assist with development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
• Coordinate resolution of action items from CCB, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination
• Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design capabilities based on evaluation of necessary development and operational considerations
• Develop SE documentation including SE Plans, ICDs, requirements specifications, and interface control documents
• Participate in interface definition and changes to configuration across life cycle
• Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to components
• Derive from system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs and essential functions
• Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level specs and ensure they are complete and verifiable
• Generate alternative system concepts, architectures, and design solutions
• Establish the definition of a system or component under development and gain approval
• Define methods by which systems are verified against requirements in a written plan
• Develop design solutions that satisfy requirements and functional analysis
• Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance (CIA and related mechanisms) and security controls
