Job summary
Visionist, Inc. in Laurel, MD is seeking a Software Engineer with a DevOps focus to support our critical mission processing big data ecosystems.
Join a 100% employee-owned team delivering secure, scalable pipelines and deployments using GitLab CI/CD, Podman, and Apache Tomcat. The role requires a TS/SCI with polygraph, a technical Bachelor’s, 3 years of software development, and willingness to pursue AWS CKAD/DevOps certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or +2 years substituting for degree).
- 3 years of experience in software development.
- Willingness to obtain AWS/Azure/CKAD related certifications funded by Visionist.
- Experience with Java, Kotlin, Typescript, React or Redux, Protobuf, Websockets, WebGL, memory management.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for building and testing phases.
- Coordinate application deployments.
- Maintain containerized applications using Podman.
- Introduce and manage automated application testing.
- Maintain Apache Tomcat servers and the applications deployed on them.
