Job summary

Healthfirst seeks a senior Infrastructure & Operations engineer to work across private/public cloud systems, OS, middleware, storage, databases, and other core infrastructure products. You will coach I&O Engineering teams, help build CI/CD pipelines for Healthfirst applications, onboard pipelines to development teams, and design SOPs for operations.

You will act as a technical leader in cloud technologies and automation, develop repeatable automation, ensure governance and security standards,

Qualifications

• Designing, building, and managing Linux/Unix-based and Windows systems.
• Extensive cloud experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience in I&O with public and private cloud technologies.
• Proven automation scripting with Bash, Python and/or PowerShell.
• IaC experience with automation and open-source tools.
• Proven track record of identifying repeatable processes and driving automation.

Responsibilities

• Supports and automates cloud infrastructure and operations.
• Develops repeatable automation to deliver capabilities efficiently.
• Acts as senior escalation point for incidents and on-call rotations.
• Creates SOPs for Healthfirst operations teams.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Works vertically and horizontally across the Infrastructure and Operations portfolio supporting private/public cloud systems, operating systems, middleware, storage, database platforms, and other key infrastructure products.
• Assists department leadership by providing informal coaching and direction to I&O Engineering team
• Support the Buildout of CI/CD pipelines for Healthfirst applications.
• Assist in Onboarding of CI/CD Pipelines to the development teams.
• Document and design various processes around DevOps; update existing processes.
• Subject matter expert for advanced analysis and resolution of the most complex issues
• Develops repeatable automation to deliver capabilities more efficiently.
• Devises solutions to problems impacting mission critical systems and implements automation to prevent reoccurrence.
• Supports and implements private cloud Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (HCI) technologies.
• Plays a senior role within a Center of Excellence for cloud usage and cloud development standards.
• Maintains an accurate picture of existing server, storage, networking, software and hardware and virtual environments to support scaling against various project requirements.
• Ensures all usage of cloud environments meet governance standards and contributes to improving standards for security and operational efficiency.
• Creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Healthfirst operations teams to support the operations of the products.
• Acts as a senior escalation point for operations and delivery teams for incident and ticket resolution and participates in an on-call rotation.
• Serves as a technical leader within Infrastructure & Operations as well as with Development teams in areas of Cloud technology and automation.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or a GED from an accredited institution
• Experience in designing, building, and managing Linux/Unix-based and Windows systems.
• Extensive cloud experience within Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), etc.
• I&O Engineering work experience including oversight of public and private cloud technologies
• Proven and demonstratable experience with automation scripting tools including BASH, Python and/or PowerShell.
• Extensive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with automation and open-source tools.
• Proven work experience in identifying repeatable processes and partnering with teams to push innovation and automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree from an accredited institution or work experience equivalent.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• GCP/Nutanix Certification.
• Experience in a Cloud Center of Excellence and driving business innovation.
