Job summary

Encord is hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our platform engineering team in San Francisco. You will build and operate core infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across data pipelines.

You will own deployment pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure on GCP/AWS, run Kubernetes clusters, and drive automation to improve developer productivity. Strong emphasis on observability and blameless incident response is required.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of hands-on DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE experience in production.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi) and configuration management.
• Strong understanding of distributed, resilient systems.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and cloud environments (GCP/AWS).
• Knowledge of networking, OS, databases, and observability fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve deployment pipelines, review infra changes, and promote DevOps best practices.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP/AWS; Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Drive automation and tooling to boost developer productivity and reduce toil.
• Profile services, perform capacity planning, and establish performance benchmarks.
• Define SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, build alerting, runbooks, and lead blameless postmortems.
• Instrument services with tracing, logging, and metrics; ensure observability before production.
