Job summary

Derex Technologies INC is seeking a Software Engineer – DevOps to join our on-site team in Parsippany, NJ. You will build, automate, and maintain scalable infrastructure, collaborate with development, operations, and security to streamline deployments, and improve reliability.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, Git workflows, Windows/IIS, and cloud familiarity across Azure or AWS. Qualifications include 5-7 years in DevOps, strong PowerShell, and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and configuration

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field.
5–7 years of experience in DevOps.
Deep understanding and hands-on experience with IIS configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI.
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet (PowerShell DSC preferred).
Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor).
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Strong Git knowledge and workflows.
Proven ability to manage code merges and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

Utilize strong Git knowledge for version control, branching, and workflows.
Manage code merges, resolve conflicts, and ensure code quality in Git repositories.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for provisioning, configuration, and deployments.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with industry-standard tools.
Design and manage Windows-based infrastructure including Windows Servers and IIS.
Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize reliability.
Troubleshoot deployment issues and ensure smooth deployments.
Collaborate with development teams on requirements and deployments.
Implement security best practices in infrastructure and deployment processes.
Participate in on-call rotation to support production environments.
Document configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Stay updated on DevOps trends, tools, and best practices.
