Job summary

Openkyber is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team in Irving, TX on a 6-month onsite contract with potential extension. You will design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and backend apps on AWS, GCP, and Azure in a DevSecOps framework.

Responsibilities include building containerized apps with Docker, developing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring security, scalability, and performance across cloud environments.

Job description

DevOps engineer Irving, TX - 5 days onsite 6 months Ad a Senior DevOps Engineer, you are joining a multidisciplinary team of product managers, designers and engineers who create digital products that hundreds of thousands of people experience every day. Your primary responsibilities will be, Designs, Develops and Maintains Infrastructure and backend applications on our AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Azure multi cloud environments for all the Digital Applications as part of Digital DevSecOps Team. Help Automate and Streamline Operations and Processes for faster, secure deployments. Work with the team of DevOps Engineers and provide technical assistance when needed. Manage and Build CI/CD tools/Pipelines and Collaborate with Dev, QA and other teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps Engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and technical mentoring.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis and timely resolution.
• Ensure applications follow security, scalability, reliability, and performance best practices.

Expectations 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on businessneeds and performance. Must have AWS experience including working on Lambda functions, EKS, ECS, Fargate and other services, Must have knowledge of Terraform, Ansible or other IaC tools. Must have good knowledge to build a scalable infrastructure in the cloud. Must have a good knowledge of database management. Hands-on development experience using Python, Node.js, or Java. Good knowledge in Git repository & versioning strategies. A thorough understanding of System administration. Experience with Linux required. Ability to work in an Agile/SCRUM environment. Well organized with a bias for action with minimal direction. A team player with a start-up/entrepreneur mindset. Ravenous about learning technology and problem solving.

Years of Experience Bachelors/ Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 7+ years of experience in Cloud computing and design. 7+ years of working experience in cloud platforms, micro-services architecture, CI/CD solutions, containers, DevOps principles, automation & configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

• Experience with AWS Services like ECS, Fargate, Lambdas, Amazon EKS.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, SonarQube, Maven, Gradle, or Jenkins.
• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
• Proven experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS, including ECS, API Gateway, SQS, CloudWatch, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting high-volume retail or eCommerce transaction systems.
• Experience with application performance monitoring using New Relic.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications (Desired but Not Required)

• Mobile Apps CI/CD with Firebase distribution and AWS Devicefarm.
• AI tools usage and agents setup for DevOps activities.

Education & Certification Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. AWS (Amazon Web Services) Certification/Google Cloud Platform Certification/Azure Certification is a plus.
