Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC seeks a DevOps Engineer to modernize and deploy a critical government information system. The role emphasizes GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Nexus repository management, and Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.

You will automate deployments, manage artifact storage, and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades across Windows Server environments while migrating toward AWS. Strong Windows and AWS expertise, IaC, and security controls are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Nexus Repository management for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.
• Strong Windows Server administration expertise.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform).
• Infrastructure-as-code practices and security controls across on-prem VMware and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Administer Windows Server environments and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades.
• Plan and execute migration strategies from on-prem VMware to AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and related components.
• Develop containerization strategies for Java applications.
• Implement configuration management tools and practices.
• Apply security controls in both on-premises VMware and AWS cloud environments.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies.
