Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support modernization and deployment of a government information system. The role emphasizes GitLab CI/CD, Nexus management, and Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.

You will automate deployments, manage artifacts, and drive infrastructure upgrades across Windows environments while planning migration to AWS. Required: strong Windows Server, AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform), and IaC practices; experience with on-prem VMware

Qualifications

• Hands-on with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Experience managing Nexus Repository for artifacts and dependencies.
• Building and maintaining Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Deep AWS expertise including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3 and IaC (CloudFormation/Terraform).
• Infrastructure-as-code practices across on-prem and cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Administer Windows Server environments and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades.
• Plan and execute migration strategies from on-premises VMware to AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and related components.
• Develop containerization strategies for Java applications.
• Implement configuration management tools and practices.
• Apply security controls in both on-premises VMware and AWS cloud environments.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies.
