DevOps Engineer

Role Profile

The role is within the Trading Application Services team, part of the Capital Markets Equities Application Services Division. We emphasize small, agile, self-managed teams that prioritize best practices and collective quality responsibility. The engineer will adopt a "build it, you run it" mindset, sharing knowledge and removing constraints.

The primary goal is to enhance our ability to plan, engineer, and support Millennium Technologies (MIT) equities exchange systems, evolve the system to meet new demands, proactively prevent and resolve issues, and provide reactive support in a critical environment. The ideal candidate will have broad skills in DevOps and application support, with in-depth knowledge of the MIT equities platform. The role involves supporting on-site shifts, participating in a 24x7 on-call rota, and supporting weekend testing as needed.

This is largely project-based, involving system improvements, operational lifecycle development, upgrades, and integration into the operational architecture. The candidate will lead DevOps activities, work on AWS implementations, and CI/CD deployments.

1. Provide technical feedback on re-engineering efforts for MIT equities systems.
2. Act as the operations SME for supported applications.
3. Develop training materials and conduct seminars/workshops.
4. Offer Level 2 technical advice and risk assessments.
5. Perform operational responsibilities like monitoring and deploying releases.
6. Resolve customer issues effectively.
7. Deepen understanding of the team's processes.
8. Support critical trading systems to meet SLAs.
9. Implement operational improvements.
10. Develop cloud-native applications.
11. Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment.
12. Build CI/CD pipelines.
13. Define and implement cloud operational requirements.
14. Build on-premises and cloud applications.
15. Practice Service Management and ITSM.
16. Promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• 2+ years of DevOps experience.
• Experience with technologies such as Millennium Exchange, Linux, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Datadog, Moogsoft, Big Panda, Git, Bitbucket, Elastic Search, Bash/PowerShell scripting, Control-M, Jira, Confluence.
