Job description

Join to apply for the DevOps Engineer (Kansas City - Remote) role at Littler.

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for automating software deployment and testing, coordinating with teams to ensure best practices, and developing configuration tools and scripts.

This position can be worked remotely from Kansas City.

Responsibilities
  1. Streamline application and service deployment processes by implementing systems to automate building, deploying, and testing software.
  2. Plan and implement build, configuration, testing, and deployment activities across multiple application development projects within an enterprise environment.
  3. Coordinate with infrastructure and development teams to consider deployment best practices and non-functional requirements early in the development lifecycle.
  4. Develop and manage configuration tools.
  5. Interface with project stakeholders and cross-functional teams such as development, QA, and infrastructure operations.
  6. Develop utility scripts for deploying and validating new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment, and provide documentation to support production.
  7. Create and improve internal OS deployment tools and processes.
  8. Use system resource utilization and monitoring tools to identify potential issues proactively.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with technologies such as:
  • Configuration Management: Octopus Deploy (preferred) or similar
  • Continuous Integration: TeamCity (preferred) or similar
  • Source control: Git
  • Database Deployments: Microsoft SQL Server, Redgate, or similar
  • Shell Scripting: PowerShell
  • Systems Administration: Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux
  • Programming Languages: .NET/C# (preferred), JavaScript, or others
  • Experience working in an agile development team environment.
  • Ability to configure and deploy within multiple hosting services such as Azure and On-Premises.
  • Experience with converged infrastructure environments, including storage, compute platforms, hypervisors, and network topologies.
  • Comfortable with frequent, incremental code, testing, and deployment cycles.
  • Experience with JIRA and the Atlassian suite preferred.
  • Ability to set up continuous delivery using build and release pipelines.
Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in information systems/computer science or equivalent training and experience.

Experience Required

Minimum of 3 years of DevOps system administration experience in a team environment.
