Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on DevOps experience building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Windows systems experience including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience administering GitHub repos and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with build and release engineering, automated deployments, and testing/workflow management.
• Strong systems/infrastructure experience with servers, VMs, OS images, and dev environments.
• Ability to establish DevOps processes independently in an environment with limited existing capabilities.
• Background in IT support or systems administration with hardware troubleshooting and reconfiguration.
• Experience supporting Linux environments, virtualization tech, and VM configuration/maintenance.
• Scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Familiarity with Azure/AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, or regulated/industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer II to support the software engineering organization of a global manufacturing and industrial technology company. This individual will play a key role in establishing and expanding DevOps infrastructure and processes for a team of 25+ software engineers and a large QA organization. With limited existing DevOps infrastructure in place, this person will be responsible for building CI/CD pipelines, managing source control repositories, integrating development tools, and implementing automation to improve software build, testing, and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong systems/infrastructure background, preferably having progressed from IT support or systems administration into DevOps engineering. This role will also involve troubleshooting Windows-based development environments and occasional hands-on hardware support, including system configuration and component replacement.

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on DevOps engineering experience, including building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
• Strong Windows systems experience, including system configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and supporting development environments.
• Hands-on experience administering GitHub repositories, managing source control workflows, and integrating repositories with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with software build and release engineering, including automating deployments, integrating testing processes, and managing software delivery workflows.
• Strong systems/infrastructure experience, including configuring and troubleshooting servers, virtual machines, operating system images, and development environments.
• Ability to independently establish DevOps processes, implement new tools, and build infrastructure in an environment with limited existing DevOps capabilities.
• Background in IT support or systems administration, including hands-on hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, and system reconfiguration.
• Experience supporting Linux environments, virtualization technologies, and virtual machine configuration or maintenance.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or supporting software development in regulated or industrial environments.
